Melvin Guillard vs. Rich Clementi Lightweight Fight
Round One: No glove-touching as the action begins. Guillard makes the first motion with a missed right hand. Clementi connects with a leg kick.
The two continue circling, neither is really landing anything as the first minute passes. Guillard moves in and connects with a right hand; Clementi fires back with a high kick, and then Guillard misses with a wild right hand. They're back to circling in the center of the Octagon.
Kick to the midsection from Clementi. On Clementi's next kick attempt, Guillard moves forward and connects with a few punches. No major damage is done and they're back to the middle of the ring.
Guillard connects with a big shot, but Clementi grabs Guillard in a bodylock. He slams Guillard to the mat. Guillard tries to work his way out, but Clementi hangs on and takes Guillard's back. He sets up a full nelson on Guillard, but Guillard shakes it off and gets back to his feet. Clementi answers with another takedown, but Guillard reverses it and lands on top. He gets back to his feet and we're back to circling inside the ring.
Guillard nails Clementi with a right hand but then slips on a follow through. He and Clementi clinch up and the fight goes to the ground with Guillard on top.
Clementi reverses things with a submission attempt and gets back on top. He tries to revert to Guillard's back; he gets a body triangle in and tries for a rear naked choke on the flattened Guillard. Guillard taps out to the choke.
After the referee breaks up the fight, Clementi offers a "suck it" gesture. That angers Guillard, who needs to be restrained from attacking the victor.
Rich Clementi won via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:40 of Round One.
Following the fight, Clementi taunts Guillard and gets him to make another attempt to charge. Numerous individuals escort Guillard from the ring, where Clementi cuts a promo that rips on Guillard for not being able to back up his shit-talking.
