THE PRELIMINARY FIGHTS
Rob Emerson vs. Keita Nakamura Lightweight Fight
Round One: The fight opens with a feeling out process that includes a great number of leg kicks. Emerson turns things up with a crushing left hand that knocks Nakamura's mouthpiece out. Emerson follows up with leg kicks. Nakamura drops Emerson with a knee late in the round, but Emerson recovers quickly.
Round Two: Emerson continues his leg kick game and then finds his range for more punches. Nakamura scores a takedown during the round, but he cannot hold Emerson down. Emerson delivers more kicks and punches upon getting up to his feet.
Round Three: Nakamura breaks a circling period with a takedown, but Emerson once again works his way out. Emerson then pulls guard, hoping to keep control of Nakamura's body. Nakamura stays standing and invites Emerson to return to his feet. Nakamura starts to find his range with punches and scores a late round takedown to try and make a statement.
Rob Emerson won via split decision (30-27, 30-27, 28-29).
Terry Martin vs. Marvin Eastman Middleweight Fight
Round One: Action is not the name of the game in round one. Eastman tries for a takedown after a period of little activity, but Martin reverses it and drags Eastman to the mat. They eventually get back to their feet and clinch to a chorus of boos.
Round Two: The action does not pick up in round two, as the damage-free circling and clinching continues. Eastman eventually gets cut due to an accidental thumb poke in the eye and then follows up with a late-round takedown.
Round Three: Eastman scores a takedown after out-muscling Martin. He does some damage from side control before Martin pops up to his feet; the fighters return to clinching. Later in the round, Eastman connects with a solid strike combination that seals the deal on the cards.
Marvin Eastman won via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).
David Heath vs. Tim Boetsch Light Heavyweight Fight
Round One: After some feeling out, Heath connects with some punches. Boetsch throws a big bodykick. He then connects with a front kick to the body, followed by an overhand punch. Heath stuffs a Boetsch shot attempt. Bodyshot from Boetsch. Another front kick from Boetsch, followed by a big right hand.
Boetsch connects with a bodykick and then a knee to Heath's face. Left hand from Heath, but Boetsch forces Heath to back up with some front kicks. Leg kick from Boetsch. Another big knee from Boetsch; he opens up and keeps throwing knees, but Heath fires back with some counterpunches. Front kick from Boetsch.
Some punches from Boetsch, including an uppercut. He sets up another series of knees. Heath keeps hitting counter shots, but the level of knees from Boetsch is unbelievable. Boetsch suddenly throws Heath into the cage and pounces on him for a series of punches.
Tim Boetsch won via TKO (strikes) at 4:52 of Round One.
Chris Lytle vs. Kyle Bradley Welterweight Fight
Round One: Lytle counters a Bradley punch attempt and proceeds to pummel his opponent with strikes. He gets the stoppage.

THE MAIN CARD FIGHTS
Tyson Griffin vs. Gleison Tibau Lightweight Fight
Round One: Here we go!
Griffin opens things up with a leg kick, and then follows with a right hand. Tibau misses on a right hand, allowing Griffin to hit another leg kick. They trade some more blows, with Griffin hitting a particularly nice early right hand.
Tyson moves in for some punches, but Tibau hits an effective counter. He follows with a knee to the head.
Tibau connects with a looping left hand from an impressive range. Griffin goes for a body shot, but Tibau's waiting to counter. Griffin throws a nice body shot again, but Tibau's still waiting with counters. They clinch up, and Tibau pushes Griffin towards the cage. Griffin reverses position, but Tibau gets right back in the dominant spot.
Tibau works for a takedown, but Griffin blocks it. They go back to clinching and then separate.
Leg kick from Griffin, followed by a high kick. He follows up with some punches, and then catches Tibau with several spot-on right hands. Jab kick from Griffin, followed by a combination of punches. Tibau weathers the storm and explodes for a takedown.
He's in half guard and forces Griffin towards the cage. Griffin rolls back to his feet, avoiding Tibau's attempt to secure the crucifix position.
They clinch against the cage, and Tibau scores another takedown. He throws some shots on the ground, but Griffin pops right back up as the round ends.
Round Two: They circle as the round opens. After some attempts to find striking range, they clinch up. Griffin forces Tibau into the cage, but Tibau reverses it.
They come back to the center of the ring and start trading. Tibau actually finds his range with a few punches, causing Griffin to stumble for a second. Griffin gets some distance and goes for shots, but Tibau answers with a takedown. Griffin pops right back up and delivers a leg kick.
Griffin hits a big right hand, but then misses on an absolutely wild throw. They keep striking; Griffin's getting the better of most exchanges, but he's still yet to get the fight into critical condition.
Griffin catches Tibau with a right hand across the nose. He's definitely pushing the pace in search of strikes, but Tibau once again answers with a takedown. Griffin, to no one's surprise, gets right back up.
Round Three: Griffin hits a few more right hands early on. He's smaller, but he has the timing down better. Tibau shoots for another takedown, but Griffin locks in a guillotine. It's loose, and Tibau pops out. He's working from Griffin's butterfly guard.
They get back up, and Griffin continues moving forward. Tibau hits just as often, but Griffin's really in control of the striking. Griffin hits Tibau with a bodyshot as Tibau succeeds with another takedown.
Griffin gets up immediately and starts firing shots to Tibau's body and face. They lock up against the cage, and Griffin stomps away at Tibau's feet. They separate as the round comes to an end.

Ricardo Almeida vs. Rob Yundt Middleweight Fight
Round One: Yundt opens with an uppercut that lands. Almeida's moving around; he then shoots for a quick takedown and gets it. He's on top in Yundt's guard.
Yundt lifts his head up, allowing the BJJ specialist Almeida to lock in a guillotine and strap his guard around Yundt's back. Yundt tries to slam his way out, but Almeida uses leverage to flip Yundt over and give himself an even more dominant guillotine hold. He gets the submission.

Jeremy Horn vs. Nate Marquardt Middleweight Fight
Round One:
They lock up right away. After some shifting, Marquardt scores the takedown and lands in Horn's guard.
Marquardt lifts up from the guard and delivers a series of major punches from the top. Horn tries to close the distance by pulling Marquardt to his body, but Marquardt finds his range with some elbows while in the guard.
Marquardt stands up; they're back to the center of the ring.
Marquardt catches Horn with a right hand as they clinch up against. Horn tries to trip Marquardt, but Marquardt stuffs it. They go to the mat and Marquardt ends up on top.
Horn works his way back up to his feet, and they're back to clinching. Horn tries for a takedown again, but it's stuffed. Marquardt then opens up with some punches. He follows with an elbow that drops Horn. Marquardt pounces on Horn and throws a few more elbows; he also looks towards an arm choke, but Horn doesn't get sucked in.
Marquardt tries to open up some distance for ground striking, but he's forced to face some upkicks in the process. He drops back down and then gets caught in an omoplata. Marquardt gets out after struggling, but he gives up top position in the process. Horn gets on top as the round ends.
Round Two: Marquardt slips on a leg kick, which allows Horn to get on top. Marquardt wraps his guard around Horn, but Horn's still keeping his dominant position. Marquardt eventually forces Horn off and they're back to their feet.
Horn immediately clinches up on a takedown attempt, but Marquardt is able to slap on a guillotine that gets a submission.

Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir Heavyweight Fight
Round One:
And, we're off!
Lesnar shoots for an immediate takedown and gets it, landing in Frank Mir's half guard. He pounds away at Mir from the top, and Mir works hard to escape.
It turns out that Lesnar hit Mir in the back of the head; Mir gets time to rest, and Lesnar's been docked a point.
Mir tries for a kick, but Lesnar counters with a right hand that drops Mir. Lesnar gets on top and keeps throwing hands. Mir uses his legs to create distance, and he even goes for armbar attempts, but Lesnar keeps coming.
Lesnar then tries to work through Mir's guard, but in the process, he gives up his leg, and Mir secures a kneebar to get the submission. Incredible change of pace.
Frank Mir won via submission (kneebar) at 1:30 of Round One.
Tim Sylvia vs. Antonio Nogueira Interim UFC Heavyweight Championship Match
Round One: It's time!
Nogueira opens with a leg kick, as they start feeling each other out for strikes. Sylvia dictates movement in the ring; he hits Nogueira with two hard right hands. Nogueira shoots for a takedown but then drops back and pulls guard. Sylvia ends up in half guard, and then stands up.
Sylvia leads with a left and then connects with a right hand. Jab from Sylvia. Left hand from Sylvia, but Nogueira connects with a more impressive right hand. Another right from Nogueira. Nogueira out-times a Sylvia uppercut attempts and connects with a shot.
Sylvia drops Nogueira to the mat with a right hand. He then hops on top of Nogueira and lets the hands fly. Nogueira controls the body, though, and brings an end to Sylvia's flurry. Sylvia stands up to avoid fighting in the BJJ master's guard.
Sylvia continues throwing hands, and Nogueira becomes almost stunned on his feet. Sylvia takes the action to the mat and throws some elbows from half guard. Nogueira's throwing a little bit from the bottom.
Sylvia stands up again. They clinch up for a second, and Sylvia wins by connecting with a knee to the face. Nogueira shoots for a takedown; it gets blocked. Sylvia continues stalking, finding range with the occasional jab. Nogueira answers with a combination, including a bodyshot-headshot pair.
Though Nogueira is connecting with his punches, Sylvia's still getting the better. Nogueira gets a last second takedown, but the round ends before he can do damage.
Round Two: Nogueira hits a punch. Sylvia starts throwing back, though, and even blocks a takedown attempt. He lands a nice right hand.
They trade a bit; Sylvia blocks Nogueira takedown attempts and continues to use his reach to have the striking advantage. Nogueira is hitting, though.
Nice one-two from Sylvia, followed by an uppercut and a nice jab. Sylvia scores on another jab but then misses on a wild left hook. Nogueira shoots again; Sylvia stuffs it.
Nogueira hits a nice leg kick; Sylvia follows with a bodyshot. Nogueira moves in hard for a single leg takedown; Sylvia works hard to stuff it, but it's one of the better takedown attempts. Nogueira eventually gives up and backs off, and it's a stand-up battle again.
Nogueira's getting a bit comfortable, he hits with a few punches from the outside; but Sylvia breaks his silence with a few hard right hands. The round ends with no one gaining a clear advantage.
Round Three: Nogueira goes for a leg kick, but Sylvia counters with a hard right hand. After some trading, Nogueira trips Sylvia to bring the action into his guard. He's in Nogueira's half guard; Nogueira then sweeps and takes advantage of Sylvia in side control.
He steps over Sylvia and then locks in a guillotine. He gets the submission win for the UFC interim Heavyweight Championship.
