Tito Ortiz vs. Lyoto Machida Light Heavyweight Fight
Round One: Machida makes the first contact with a leg kick. The crowd is behind Tito right now; both men are hesitant to engage.
Machida keeps throwing in some leg kicks; Ortiz is waiting for a chance to unload. He grabs a leg for an attempted takedown, but there is little behind the attempt and Machida shakes it off.
Ortiz moves forward with some punches that do not really land. Ortiz grabs a Muay Thai clinch and throws a knee to the chin. It doesn't connect cleanly, and Machida breaks free from the clinch. Straight kick from Machida, but Ortiz walks through it and tries to clinch. Machida tosses Ortiz right off.
Ortiz connects with a right to the side of Machida's head; Machida responds with yet another leg kick.
Machida lands a left hand. Kick to the elbow from Machida. They trade blows as Ortiz drops his head.
High kick from Machida this is blocked by Ortiz. Ortiz is having significant trouble locking up Machida's body. Another leg kick from Machida.
Machida fakes a kick and then delivers another high kick. Ortiz's hands are high, though so he's able to block it.
Another switch kick from Machida to Ortiz's body. Machida then clinches up and rams Ortiz to the mat. He lands in side control and throws a series of undefended punches; Ortiz is saved by the bell.
Round Two: Ortiz opens with a leg kick, but Machida follows with a left straight and then a leg kick of his own.
Ortiz tries for a takedown, but Machida dodges it and then lands a kick to the body. Machida is not necessarily on the offensive, but he owns all the offense. He keeps connecting with some light counter blows.
High kick from Machida that makes a nasty sound, but Ortiz is still standing. He moves forward and just doesn't come close with punch attempts. Bodykick from Ortiz, but Machida dodges a follow-up punch. He then throws a leg kick of his own.
Ortiz shoots, but Machida easily sprawls to defend it. Ortiz decides to drop down with a guard pull. He then uses the fence to get back to his feet.
Machida delivers a knee to the face. Ortiz just cannot find a way to hit Machida. He drops his arm and encourages Machida to move in. Machida does respond by connecting with some punches, but then Ortiz lets loose and connects with a bodykick as the bell sounds.
Round Three: Ortiz moves through with a right hand. He clinches and then delivers knees and some shots to the body. Machida slips out, though. Leg kick from Machida.

Knee from clinch for Ortiz. Big right hook from Ortiz, followed by a Muay Thai lcinch. He connects with a right hand, despite being forced against the cage. Big elbow from Machida. Ortiz reverses Machida and grabs a leg, but he just cannot get the takedown. Machida backs up and pushes Ortiz against the cage.
A period of inactivity in clinch leads to a separation. Ortiz walks in, and Machida lands a knee. Ortiz shows pain and drops down, and Machida works from Ortiz's very tight guard.
Ortiz sets up a triangle choke out of nowhere, and then advances to an armbar, but Machida slides out of it and ends the round on top.
Lyoto Machida won via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
